FAQ
What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder.
The coating is typically applied electro statically and is cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may
be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.
How is Powder Coating Eco-Friendly and Green?
Powder coating is an environmentally friendly process unlike solvent-based wet paint systems. The powder coating process does
not use solvents in any way, VOC emission problems are eliminated. It is non toxic, can be used on food service equipment and,
in it's powder form, is no more harmful than dust. When it is cured it becomes a tough and weather resistant coating for motorcycle
frames, car chassis, wheels and outdoor furniture. Powder coating helps make your living environment more livable by offering a
host of colors for wrought iron, hand rails and other indoor and outdoor fixtures.
What are the Benefits of Powder Coating?
There are advantages of powder coating over conventional liquid coatings. Besides being an efficient, economical and
environmentally compliant process, it produces a superior finish and provides for both extreme and decorative properties.
